The Salvation Army Saints U14s have been having a great season so far, currently sitting in third position in the league, and are on joint points with the Needham Phoenix Crusaders U14s, who they have to play twice, and one point behind Chantry who they have to play once. So, their last 3 matches are against the top two, making it an interesting end to the season for them.
Since December, they have had the following results:
2-2 draw vs Felixstowe & Walton
3-0 win vs Claydon
4-1 win vs Felixstowe & Walton
4-2 win vs Framlingham (Friendly Match)
6-0 win vs Laxfield
1-2 loss vs Witnesham
8-0 loss vs IVR Blues (Cup Quarter Final)
4-0 win vs IVR Whites
In the friendly Framlingham match, their regular goalie had to come off, and was replaced by Arthur Scott, who was on his debut and expecting to play outfield. Against Laxfield, they only had 10 players, making their 6 goals win even sweeter. 4 of the goals were scored by Sam Palmer. The loss against Witnesham was their first defeat of the season. IVR are currently top of Division 1, and the Saints had to field an 11 man team, without their regular goalie, two of their defenders and striker, who were all absent.
This makes their loss againts IVR Blues not as bad a result as it looks. Sam Palmer has scored 27 goals in 15 matches, and is hoping to hit the 30 mark before the season ends. After the Easter break, they have the three home matches, finishing on Wednesday 9th May 2018 when their final position will be known. Next season, the boys will play on a full-size pitch, and will be sourcing larger goals for them. Exciting times ahead for them. Digital Copier Systems (Eastern) are proud to sponsor the Salvation Army Saints U14s team.
